In Hinton is a home-grown business and community directory for Hinton, Alberta.
This website was born from a simple frustration: Hinton did not have a publicly searchable business directory that made it easy for people to discover what our town has to offer. I had been advocating for that kind of change for more than six years. Hinton has so much to offer, and it starts with making it easier for visitors, newcomers, and long-time residents to see the businesses, services, organizations, places, and resources available here.
Change happens when people take responsibility, show initiative, and provide leadership. There is a real cost to building and maintaining a useful service like this. Logic Control Ltd. supported this project quietly for several years, and the original directory was eventually closed in part because advertising and operating costs had grown to roughly $150 or more each month.
The directory has now been reinstated. Logic Control Ltd. is currently sponsoring the whole service, but this time we are sharing what we have been giving back to our community and the place we call home. This is a practical act of local philanthropy: using the skills and experience I have to build a useful, home-grown solution that helps businesses and community organizations help one another.
Listings are provided as a starting point and may need correction. Unclaimed businesses and organizations may be out of date and may or may not still be operating. If you own or represent a listing, please claim your listing or suggest an update. Claiming a listing helps us understand how your business or group is actually set up, rather than asking us to infer those details.
We also look forward to adding event-style listings in the future, so local organizations can share what is happening in Hinton in a way that is searchable beyond social media. Not everyone travelling through town is using Facebook, and important local information should be easier to find through Google and other search tools.
Sponsors are welcome to help offset the cost of keeping this service available. Sponsorship is appreciated but not required. If you find value in the directory and would like to participate, please visit the Sponsors page.
Thank you for supporting local businesses, community groups, and the people who make Hinton home.
